Redmi Smart Band Pro Review: Design and Software

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Redmi Smart Band Pro shares many similarities with Mi Band 6, considering Redmi is a sub-brand of Xiaomi. However, the Redmi Smart Band Pro is thinner and wider than the Mi Band 6.

The package arrives with the band body, one band strap, a charging cable, and a user manual. It's lightweight, weighing a mere 15 grams. The fitness band sports a bigger screen, measuring 1.47 diagonally.

The tracker’s frame is made from 2.5D tempered glass and Polycaprolactam, which is further reinforced with glass fiber. This makes it quite durable and capable of holding well in outdoor activities. Currently, the band frame comes in one color only; black.

The band straps are made from TPU, and the adjustable length is 130-220mm. Like the band frame, the band strap is also available only in black but can be replaced with any standard band of the correct size.

The Redmi Smart Band Pro utilizes the Apollo 3.5 processor, which is designed specifically for battery-powered devices, such as activity and fitness monitors and electronic wearables. The band is compatible with handsets running Android 6.0 and later, as well as iOS 10.0 and later.

Redmi Smart Band Pro Review: Display and Features

The Redmi Smart Band Pro comes with a bigger screen than its predecessor. The 1.47 AMOLED Touch Display is brighter, with up to 450nits of peak brightness and 100 percent NTSC color gamut coverage. It has a resolution of 194 x 368, and you can adjust the brightness to your liking.

The display is protected with 2.5D tempered glass, and it supports an Always-on display, making it easier to use while working out. The unit has a water-resistant rating of 5ATM, meaning it can withstand water pressures up to 50 meters in depth. In other words, you can go swimming, diving, or snorkeling with the band. You can also wear it in wet conditions like on the beach, while showering, or when it's raining or snowing.

Redmi Smart Band Pro Sensors

As far as sensors, the Redmi Smart Band Pro comes with a 6-axis sensor; a low power-consumption 3-axis accelerometer and 3-axis gyroscope, a PPG heart rate sensor, and a light sensor, which adjusts light based on surrounding conditions.

The band features 50+ band faces that let you sync with your style or mood. When it comes to workout monitoring, the fitness tracker can track over 110 fitness modes. This covers basically all types of workouts you can think of, including yoga, treadmill, trail run, hiking, indoor cycling, and HIIT.

What’s more, the band can automatically detect three fitness modes – treadmill, outdoor walking, and outdoor running. Just get started on your workout, and the band will start monitoring.

Another great feature is the 24-hour heart rate monitor. It tracks your heart rate in real-time, 24 hours a day, and displays readings on an easy-to-read graph. The device will vibrate if your heart rate shoots above the safe zone.

The gadget is also equipped with a blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) monitor that lets you know your overall health, as reflected by your blood oxygen levels.

If you want to know how well you sleep at night, the Sleep Quality Tracker monitors your sleep patterns and displays detailed statistics on light sleep and the REM phase. All this information is accessible through the Xiaomi Wear App that you install on your smartphone.

The Redmi Smart Band Pro also comes with a Female Health monitor that predicts your female cycle even before your body does. You can also monitor your stress levels via the band so you can understand when to take a break.
