India is known to be one of the most popular markets for Poco's first phone, Pocophone F1. And now, Poco has launched Pocophone X2, which (disappointingly for some folks) seems to be a rebadged Redmi K30 – everything from the design to specs is similar. Poco, which is now an independent brand, first made it to the limelight with the release of Pocophone F1. When it came out towards the end of 2018, it immediately struck the right code in the Indian market and became a hit. It incorporated the specs of high-end smartphones like Samsung and LG but at a fraction of a price. If you were hoping for Pocophone F2, the tides seemed to have changed. Recently, Poco released Pocophone X2 and turns out, it's a mid-ranger with less exciting features. Here’s a review of Pocophone X2.

Some of the outstanding features of Pocophone X2 are: • Dual front-facing cameras featuring 20MP + 2MP sensors
- Back facing quad cameras featuring 64MP + 8MP+ 2MP + 2MP

Poco X2 Specs
Smartphone cameras have come a long way and the specs on the Poco X2 are amazing. It comes with a quad back-facing camera with a 64MP Sony IMX686 main sensor, an 8MP wide-angle 120-degree sensor, a 2MP macro sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, you get dual cameras – a 20MP shooter with a secondary 2MP lens for depth sensing. Like we mentioned earlier, Poco X2 has striking similarities with Redmi K30. The 6.67-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2400 resolution) display gives you the sharpest and clearest view of your photos and videos. The RealityFlow display offers a 20:9 aspect ratio and a refresh rate of 120Hz that gives you faster processing of animations and smooth scrolling. You can also switch to 60Hz to save battery life. The high refresh rate and wider view mean you get to enjoy your games and videos more. Poco X2 comes equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G octa-core SoC and its offered in three variations:
- 6GB of RAM + 64GB of storage space
- 6GB of RAM + 128GB of storage space • 8GB of RAM + 256GB of storage space
It runs on Android 10 and if you combine this with the high camera specs, the crisp clear display and a long-lasting battery of 4500mAh, the phone should feel smooth regardless of what you do with it. It comes with a USB-C slot, a headphone jack and a fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button. Keeping the pace set by Poco F1, the Poco X2 features LiquidCool Tech, which (according to the company) is capable of transferring heat three times the speed of a smartphone without a liquid cooling system.
Design and Materials
Poco seems to have started its flagship models on a high note with the Poco X2 featuring a 3D curved Gorilla Glass 5 on the rear of the smartphone. The side-mounted fingerprint scanner is strategically placed for ease of use. For improved security, the phone features a 3D AI FaceID along with other security features. It supports hybrid Nano-SIMs with a 4G VoLTE network on both SIMs. However, for some reason, the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage model doesn’t come with the 27W fast charger adapter, despite support.
Pocophone X2 Price
So, how much does the Poco X2 cost? The 6GB RAM and 64GB storage starts at 15,999 rupees (£172). If you want more storage, go for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage version which starts at 16,999 rupees (around £185). The price rises to 19,999 rupees (around £215) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model. By the look of things, Pocophone X2 doesn’t seem like it's really a successor of Poco F1. We expected even better specs than the flagship Poco F1 but Poco X2 hasn’t matched these specs. So, if it's not the successor, when is Pocophone F2 coming out and where's Pocophone X1?
To Consider Before Your Purchase
If it's speed you want, the Pocophone F1 has far better specs and features than the Pocophone X2. Most of its features are mid-range but this doesn't mean that it's slow. In fact, for that price, the Pocophone X2 offers a lot more than most expensive smartphone brands.
Pocophone X2 is offered in three variants – 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128 GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. It comes equipped with 20MP + 2MP selfie cameras and quad back-facing camera featuring 64MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP.
