Choosing the Best Tablet under $300

Choosing the Best Tablet under $300

Tablets are great for browsing, streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime, and playing games. There’s a lot of choice even if you have a restricted budget. You’ll find that $300 opens you up to a lot of great brands including big names like Microsoft, Samsung, and Apple but there are also powerful tablets from Asus and Lenovo to consider. You can’t expect the very latest features when you have $300 to spend but you have a lot of choice out there. The following list should help you choose which tablet to spend your money on.

Asus

There are two tablets from Asus to consider. The ZenPad 3S and the ZenPad 10. If style is as important as power, opt for the ZenPad 3S. If saving a little money is important, the ZenPad 10 is the one to go for as it retails for around $200 while the ZenPad 3S is nearly $300. For $300, you get a tablet that’s great for day to day use. Its 9.7-inch display has a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels so the screen’s great for viewing movies and TV. It has a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen to protect the display so this is also the practical choice. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and it can handle the latest games thanks to an integrated IMG GX6250 graphics card.

The ZenPad 10 is just as stylish but nowhere near as powerful. It also runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow but it only has 2GB of RAM, which might not be enough for gaming which normally demands 4GB of RAM. The tablet’s 10-inch display is good for most tasks, including streaming TV shows, and Quad Core 64 bit MediaTek processor will offer good performance for most tasks.

Microsoft

The Surface 3 was a premium tablet when it was released in 2015. A few years later, the Microsoft device still has a premium feel even though its tech lags behind newer machines. The 10.8-inch HD multitouch display is one of those features that makes this tablet attractive. It has 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, although a microSD can be added to boost memory to 128GB. You can expect 10 hours of battery life so this is a great tablet for business use or studies when you’ll be away from the home all day.

Lenovo TAB 4 10Plus

Lenovo

For everyday use, this device is the best on the market at this time. Lenovo TAB 4 10Plus has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage space. With a microSD you can increase the capacity to 256GB. The 10.1-inch Quad High Definition (QHD) display is clear whether you’re watching shows or playing games and the Dolby Atmos system when heard through the integrated JBL speakers enhances your gaming and viewing experience. The 13MP rear facing camera and 5MP front camera take great pictures and there’s 18 hours of battery life.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A

Samsung

This Android tablet is aimed at families. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A comes with a Samsung’s Kids subscription which offers apps, books, and games tailored to the little people in your life. Parents can set a usage limit if you want to limit your kid’s screen time, and you can block certain apps from your child’s view. You get a 10.1-inch HD display and 2GB of RAM, which is enough for multitasking, but not enough for gaming or any other complex programs. It runs Android Nougat and comes with 32GB of storage, which gives you enough space for apps and downloads of your favorite Netflix shows. If that’s not enough memory, you can increase it through the microSD card slot.

Apple

Fans of Apple and anyone who’s used to iOS, should buy the iPad mini. This premium device has 1GB of RAM and is powered by the Dual-Core A5 Chip. It runs Apple’s iOS 6 operating system and has 16GB of internal storage. Users can expect 10 hours from a single charge. Overall, this is the best tablet on the market now so as long as you’re all right with 16GB of internal storage as Apple’s device doesn’t have a microSD card slot so you can’t expand its memory.
